A rare Spring midweek fixture saw 51 Back To Basics gather at Yarmouth on Wednesday 10th April for the annual ‘Yarbiza’ event.
Heat 1 was for the more novice drivers and commenced with 97 Scott tangling with 666 Damo. 502 Selfy attacked 797 Jackson.
346 Nichols spun 512 Wishbone Jnr fencewards. 294 Francis had a pop at 666 Damo whilst 315 Cobbwebb attacked 427 Austin. 639 and 512 Wishbone Jnr had a little coming together off track. 142 Nath spun 200 Baldy who rolled on the middle and back on all fours. 748 Georgie Boy was making strong progress through the order and attacked 666 Damo and then took a lunge at 142 Nath, ultimately spinning himself in the process. 328 Nichols attacked and spun 142 Nath to take the lead. 392 Smith, who had received a technical disqualification dispatched the leading 328 Nichols, who responded by turning 389 fencewards. 142 Nath attacked 748 Georgieboy in the battle for the win, spinning the latter across the line but it was the latter who held on to take his maiden win in the formula. Only 3 cars went the distance prompting Back To Basics rep 247 Bro to call an emergency drivers briefing warning them to calm themselves to ensure cars made the whole meeting.

Heat 2 began with 411 LeGrice spinning 39 Pusher Paul which prompted 593 Howell to take avoiding action over the grass. 409 FastShed spun 13 Burcham. 50 Barty Jnr spun 439 Sutty, and 179 Fat Pants did the same to 995 Deano. 336 Fathead spun 61 Danny C. 546 Leonard and 39 Pusher Paul tangled with 50 Barty Jnr. 179 FatPants went on to spin 141 Snakey. 175 Emmo had a nibble at 123 Ratboy. 14 Bazza got brushed aside by the pack, as 33 Magic moved his way up the grid getting rid of 175 Emmo in the process. 247 Bro spun 595 Cossey. 109 James Williams races to the win.

Heat 3 was an all in format and commenced 593 Holly spinning 666 Damo. 502 Selfy, 595 Cossey and 593 Holly were early casualties coming together on the Caister bend. 995 Deano put away 9 Titch. 595 Cossey attacked 748 Georgieboy. 13 Burcham attacked 123 Ratboy. 141 Snakey ran into the spun 502 Selfy. 995 Deano spun 389, with 427 Jay running into the latter. 247 Bro spun 13 Burcham. 302 Smith spun previous race winner 109 Williams as he moved up the order. 995 Deano and 179 FatPants tangled. A pile up formed next to the start line, with 61 Danny C met the spun 595 Cossey head on. 247 Bro spun 13 Burcham once again. 123 Ratboy jacked the lame 595 Cossey as 33 Magic raced to the win this time around.

The Final saw 666 Damo involved in the action from the off once again as he clashed with 142 Nathoo. 13 Burcham dispatched of 621 Gruff. 546 Leonard put 39 Pusher Paul into the marker tyres. 336 Fathead dispatched 61 Danny C only to come under fire from 302 Smith. 316 Dace attacked 141 Snakey. 247 Bro spun 512 Wishbone Jnr which sent 145 Gladden fencewards in turn. 61 Danny C ran in 389 just before the starter’s rostrum and was jacked in turn by 439 Sutty. 109 Williams crashed out. 409 Fast Shed tangled with 101 Plane. 411 LeGrice set about 409 Fast Shed.141 Snakey laid into the rejoining 336 Fathead: 741 Capt D got put up a post. 336 Fathead gave a head on to the spun 328 Nichols, with 230 Tweedy collecting 336 Fathead. 141 Snakey spun 101 Plane. 336 Fathead weighed in on 995 Deano and was jacked in turn by 141 Snakey. 101 Plane attacked 141 Snakey to avenge the shot on his son. 247 Bro had a pop at 439 Sutty, and then spun the latter alongside 141 Snakey in one foul swoop as he raced to the win ahead of 175 James Emmerson and 101 Kevin Plane.

The Caravan DD concluded the night’s action. 138 Batchelor was set about on the first bend and lost his caravan immediately. 56 Skippy attacked 502 Selfy. 502 Selfy recovered to hit 109 Williams over the crossroads; the latter losing his caravan and trailer completely. 138 Batchelor piled into 502 Selfy. 56 Skippy clipped 9 Titch’s caravan and then proceeded to drive through the wreckage. 175 Emmo delivered a big hit on 56 Skippy’s caravan. 9 Titch attacked 433 Smith and got set about by 116 Wanty. 56 Skippy tboned 502 Selfy’s full caravan. 433 Smith delivered an oppo attack on 116 Wanty’s caravan. 433 Smith attacked 116 Wanty’s winch to try and dislodge it. 116 Wanty and 433 Smith shared a head on with both expiring.
Overall, a very entertaining evening of Back To Basics action with the caravan DD capping the evening off nicely.
