Unlimited Bangers World Championship 2024 – World Finalists Preview

5 David Haugh (DMC Race Promotions)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

You’d be forgiven for assuming that David has been on a World Final grid before with a lengthy tenure in the hot seat. David also raced in the saloon stock cars before taking some time out. The Bomb Squad member spent a year getting to grips with things to ensure he maximised his return after 5 years off and did just that by making his way on to the grid, and he is determined that he won’t be here just to make the numbers up.

18 Ashley Law (Spedeworth – BWS Entertainers)
Previous World Final – 0
Best Finish – N/A

It has been 20 years since we last saw the Demons colours on display in the main race, but ‘The Elf’ has bucked that trend after securing the last spot in the Entertainers League. Ashley has had some top tin over the eight rounds as he had an all-British series starting with the Daimler DS420 Limo at Aldershot. Ipswich and Northampton saw a pair of Rolls Royce’s with a Silver Spur Limo and Silver Shadow II. The Mildenhall rounds saw Ashley have a Rover P5 and Jaguar XJ Series I, with a trip to Eastbourne in between where he piloted a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow I. Yarmouth was a luckless day in a Series III Jaguar XJ which failed to race, but finally made the track at Taunton. Whilst Ashley has had his fair share of ups and downs this season, it will certainly be cool to see the colours on the grid and we look forward to seeing what he turns out for the occasion.

24 Mark de Laat (Emmen)
Previous World Finals – 5 (2007-2021)
Best Finish – N/A

This year sees the return of Devastator after he claimed the Entertainer Points at Emmen last year. That accolade saw Mark complete the continental grand slam; having won both CAMSO & ASE Points, Best Material for both promotions and now best entertainer for both. It was always Mark’s aim to be on the grid after making a promise to his son Wesley who came to watch the meeting for the first time last year and set his dad the task of qualifying so that he could drive him out on to the grid – that alone will complete Mark’s night, and will surely add to the motivation to make a big impact tonight.

51 James Licquorice (Trackstar)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

The Duck on the World Final grid was a dream for Trackstar entertainer James Licquorice, but he’s made it a reality being on the grid after a top season on the Norfolk shaleway, putting a show on for the fans. Father Paul raced to the Saloon Stock Car World Championship back in 1992, and it would certainly be a cool feat for James to take the highest accolade bangers have to offer. Whilst it remains unlikely due to his lack of tarmac experience, James has built up a large fanbase and would be a very popular winner should he do so. One thing is for sure, if he’s not in the places, he’ll look to cause some damage instead!

58 Joe Brown (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Joe probably should have got into the World Final last year and then should have again this year via the Entertainers League, but that wasn’t meant to be and he grafted away at minor places whilst putting on a show and that grit and determination was rewarded with a spot in the main race. Whilst many can debate whether or not he deserved to be in via the entertainers, nobody can deny he earned his way onto the grid.

62 Harvey Webb (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Harvey showed real promise in the junior classes and that’s continued into the Unlimiteds where he has been riding high in the points all year. Harvey has the capability to be a World Champion, whether that comes this year or not, only time will tell.

67 Rickie Beasley (Spedeworth – BWS Wildcard)
Previous World Finals – 4 (2012-2023)
Best Finish – N/A

Rickie has surprisingly never finished the main race, but he is the form man having recently won both the Yarmouth and Taunton wildcard finals, as well as the Showdown at the former, and he has been one of the most consistent performers of the year. Rickie is no stranger to these big races, having secured the 2 Litre ORC World title and the National Bangers PRI World Championship before. He will be among one of the favourites to take the big one.

69 Brad Bartram (Trackstar)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Brad has gone under the radar of many over the past few seasons, but he’s gone from being a driver that was lost amongst the crowd at Kings Lynn to a leading name; not only at his home promotion, but across the whole scene as he combines some top driving ability with a love of crashing for that ‘complete driver’. Those skills will come in handy as he looks to navigate his first appearance not only on the World Final grid, but his first time at Ipswich. He’ll hope going under the radar aids him tonight.

74 Jamie Sangster (Hardie Race Promotions)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

A strongly contested battle at Lochgelly saw Jamie clinch the Points Championship and book his spot on the World Final grid for the first time. His experience in the Unlimiteds is slightly lacking and that could prove vital to his chances here.

77 Aaron Charles (Spedeworth – BWS Entertainers)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2021-2022)
Best Finish – 6th in 2021

Aario needs no introduction. He has been one of the most consistent performers of the past few seasons and to do the majority of his racing still off the back of a recovery truck as opposed to the hiabs and big lorries now viewed as an essential commodity in the banger scene, is certainly admirable. We are so used to seeing his crashing abilities that we forget sometimes how good a driver he can be, and his debut performance in the main race reminded us of that. If he can keep his head down and avoid the temptation to plough through the back of something, Aario can mount a serious challenge to the front-runners.

77 Patxi Beasley (YorStox)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Patxi had built up a bit of a ‘bad boy’ reputation and once found himself outcasted by multiple ORC promotions, including Spedeworth themselves, but bygones are bygones and that’s all in the past, so having overcome those differences to make his way on to the grid must be a very sweet moment. Patxi is renowned for some top-quality displays in his Jaguars, but has quietly been going about his business the past couple of seasons and mastering his race-craft taking numerous race wins. He registered with YorStox and has had a superb season on the shale at Bradford and could be a surprise package. Patxi has the ability to cause a stir when needed however, and if brother Rickie is near contention, you can expect to see him do what is necessary to aid him.

100 Callum White (Trackstar)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2020-2022)
Best Finish – N/A

Cock had a pukka season in the Unlimited World of Shale qualifying campaign where he topped the entertainers standings, but didn’t get the opportunity to race due to a broken ankle sustained at the BWS Finale at Taunton. He’ll be looking to make up for that with his inclusion in the main race and you can expect him to at least attempt to cross paths with 617 Jack Overy and if he succeeds at that then who knows who his next target will be.

129 Joe Skutela (Mildenhall)
Previous World Finals – 1 (2021)
Best Finish – N/A

Joe returns to the grid after a little hiatus, this time as a member of the Condoms team and will likely have his work cut out with two Damage Inc counterparts to exchange blows with. Joe has had a good year on the Suffolk shale with wins, crashes and all that’s in between and will look to get the first shot in against Bro or Big Al. If he wins or gets smashed to bits you know he’ll have a smile on his face either way.

130 Joe Gladden (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Another member of the TWT working his way on to the grid is Joe; a member of the famous Gladden family more commonly associated with stock car racing, but Joe has proved that he can handle himself within the banger scene. A previous Firecracker champion, Joe took second place in the first Alcomers on World Final last year showing that he has the pace to be among the contenders and could well go under the radar here.

133 Ben Wyatt (Spedeworth – BWS Wildcard)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

It’s been great to see the Posh Wash man back on a more frequent basis over the years, and despite a seasoned career, it may come as a surprise that this will be his first time in the main race having won the second Mildenhall wildcard. The iconic yellow and black colours will not look out of place, however.

133 Terry Hill (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 4 (2015-2023)
Best Finish – 7th in 2015

Terry is another driver where consistency is vital. Terz had his first taste of gold when he secured the Autospeed World Final down at Taunton last year, and his motors looked good with the gold roof. Terry’s been one of the most dedicated drivers this year and he’ll be looking to make progress on his highest finish of a seventh in this event.

178 Kieran Bowman (Trackstar/Spedeworth – BWS Entertainers)
Previous World Finals – 4 (2018-2023)
Best Finish – 3rd in 2023

Slim is one of the most popular names around the ovals these days. The Predators man took the Entertainers title for the second time after some top displays including some very cool cars – the Toyota Crown Estate and Lincoln Continental at both Mildenhall rounds being the highlights among other top material in another busy year. He raced to a very strong third place finish last year and looked to be closing in on the top two towards the end of the race, so he’s not someone you can overlook to take the win. He has had a taste for gold and will be looking to get it back on his roof as soon as he can.

178 Ruud Van Kuijk (ASE)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2015-2016)
Best Finish – N/A

Ruud never set out to be among the points at Emmen last year – the Team Horny driver is more renowned for his crashing exploits but after a season of consistent results, he ended in a battle with 209 Stefan Mijnheer at the Oliebollenrace back in December, where he came out on top to secure the ASE Points Championship and ultimately a spot on the World Final grid. Ruud was involved in a spectacular wreck at Emmen’s season opener in March; his Volvo going home a lot shorter. He’ll certainly hope he has better fortunes tonight.

186 Lewis Fasey (Autospeed)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Lewis becomes the third member of the Fasey family to make the world final grid. His Dad, Leon is an ex-Autospeed World Champion and Lewis displays the qualities to take the gold himself. Lewis has had a top season at his home promotion where he heads the points championship by a sizeable margin. Lewis showcased that ability to the wider audience taking a heat win at the Taunton BWS round and will be among the favourites heading into tonight.

209 Stefan Mijnheer (ASE)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Not only is this Stefan’s first appearance in the World Final, it’s his first time racing in the UK and also the first time on tarmac, so they’ll be a lot to learn very quickly for Stefan. He’ll relish the opportunity just to be on the grid, and we believe he is expecting to pilot something a little bit special for the occasion.

209 Tom Waller (Spedeworth – BWS Wildcard)
Previous World Finals – 3
Best Finish – 5th in 2018

Tombo started the year as a man on a mission winning at pretty much every meeting he attended and continued that form to the second round of the Banger World Series here at Ipswich where he romped to a heat and final double. Since then, he has enjoyed the flexibility of racing when and where he pleases, including a successful defence of the Unlimited East Anglian Championship on the shale at Kings Lynn, and he will be hoping to revisit that form for a strong showing tonight. He displayed that ability in March and will be among one of the favourites to take gold this evening if that night was anything to go by.

211 Dennis Vorkink (Spedeworth – BWS Entertainers)
Previous World Finals – 1 (2022)
Best Finish – N/A

The aim of this year for Dennis was just to compete at every round alongside his brother Arian, ticking off another from his bucket list. Volvos galore once again, and some entertaining performances in them, lead to Dennis finding his way onto the grid once again. Dennis is someone you’d not expect to see at the business end of the field, but he could upset a few looking to be there themselves.

222 Colin Riddell (Crimond)
Previous World Finals – 5 (2018-2023)
Best Finish – 10th in 2022

The Riddell family are regulars on the World Final grid and do a fantastic job of putting their home promotion on the map. Colin managed a 10th in 2022, which was impressive given that he was at the wheel of a Lexus at the time. Sean did the family name proud at the World Cup back in April, breaking the English hold on the title to become only the second Scotsman to win the title since its inception. Could Colin be the first Scotsmen to win the World Championship?

226 Brian Youngson (GMP)
Previous World Finals – 1 (2022)
Best Finish – N/A

Brian makes his second appearance on the World Final grid after a top season at Cowdenbeath, but he’ll be hoping his trip south of the border goes better than his last one. Brian took part in the Goldie Testimonial meeting at Skegness in August and ended the day well wrecked after being one of many of Tye Williams’ victims on the day. Brian will be hoping to keep his head down and stay out of trouble in the pursuit of a finish.

243 Pete Osborne (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2022-2023)
Best Finish – 3rd in 2022

Pete has a good track record with his World Final appearances. His debut saw him on pole and guide his Jaguar to an impressive 3rd place finish, and he followed that up with the stunning Jaguar XJ Series II in tribute to his mum which was voted as Caged! Smartest Car of 2023, and he put it to great use in the Cash or Card race with a savage hit on 527 Dennis Klomp. We look forward to seeing what Bodja brings this year. He was very much the people’s champ before, but with the launch of his Allstar Garage podcasts and meeting videos on the YouTubes, I highly doubt they’d be a more popular winner than Pete.

247 Lee Clarke (Skegness)
Previous World Finals – 13 (2006 – 2022)
Best Finish – 10th in 2009

It’s Bro’s 14th World Final, the first the Damage Inc man isn’t representing Spedeworth having gone across to Skegness this year. Bro is no stranger to winning big races, but as has been the case over the past few seasons, he’ll have to deal with his on-track rivalries first before focusing on the race at hand and that could prove costly with the likes of 129 Skutela, 341 Jonesey and 838 Peters on the grid.

252 Steven Bugler (Spedeworth – BWS Wildcard)
Previous World Finals – 6 (2013 – 2023)
Best Finish – 2nd in 2021

‘Boogie’ is very much renowned for his crashing exploits whilst warring with DWO and other counterparts, that his ability to get a car around the track can often be forgotten about. 2021 reminded us of that when he raced to second place, and he will be hoping he avoids the likes of Jonesey and Peters to take the gold. With that being said, should he not be in contention, expect him to go on the hunt for them.

262 Rob Bugler (Mendips)
Previous World Finals – 9 (2012-2023) 1 DNS
Best Finish – 9th in 2023

‘Roona’ is the second of three BRCM drivers to make the grid. He has very much had the say in numerous key races this year, aiding brother Boogie to his Wildcard win at Northampton and sticking it to the front runners at the World of Shale and moves like that may scupper his chances if he emerges towards the front of the field tonight. Roona knows how to handle himself however and is a very quick driver to boot – it could be the year we see a member of BRCM leave with the gold.

269 Tom Morris (Buxton)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

‘Mozzer’ is another World Final rookie, and although has qualified through the Buxton points, has a relative lack of tarmac Unlimited experience. He has been very active behind the scenes building all fresh equipment as he looks to differ to his usual Volvos.

278 Sean Brokenshire (Autospeed)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2021-2022)
Best Finish – N/A

Bean is known for being an entertainer and has showcased that even more so this year as he romps away at the head of the Autospeed Entertainer points. Bean was in lively spirits at the Taunton BWS round where he clashed with 838 Jamie Peters and it will be interesting to see if that spills across into tonight. Bean certainly isn’t slow when he chooses to go for a race and could mount a surprise should he choose to keep his head down.

317 Callum Jacobs (Mildenhall)
Previous World Finals – 3 (2020-2022)
Best Finish – N/A

Callum is more known for his ability on the shale than his tarmac form, but he finds himself on the grid once again alongside brother Kurt and will be hopeful of a top ten finish in this.

327 Mick Maskell Jnr (Spedeworth – BWS Wildcard)
Previous World Finals – 7
Best Finish – 1st in 2019

Mick Maskell Jnr has been one of the most consistent drivers at the top of the banger scene for many years now, and that started around the time that he took gold back in 2019 – five years later and he is still very much in the conversation of pre-race chatter for a driver that could emerge with the win. He booked his fate early doors taking the Aldershot Wildcard but that didn’t really stop him from having another busy year.

337 Giel Koorn (ASE)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Gielles is another World Final rookie on the grid. He was the highest points scorer of the World Cup meeting at his home track of Emmen, and he has shown his prowess on the shale, with trips to Kings Lynn and Northampton this year. Giel will have hoped to have garnered more tarmac experience but am sure will relish the opportunity to be among the sport’s elite.

341 Andrew Jones (Spedeworth – BWS Entertainers)
Previous World Finals – 9 (2006-2023)
Best Finish – 7th in 2021

Jonesey has had another relatively quiet year, nothing to shout about but doing enough to keep the entertainer points mounting up to get himself on the grid for the tenth time. The days of title contender Jonesey are a distant memory, with the English Championship in 2008 and London Open back in 2011, but those were pre-DWO days and on track rivalries are now the main focus in which you can expect him to try and have the first say in another chapter of those again tonight.

348 Sonny Sherwood (Spedeworth – BWS Wildcard)
Previous World Finals – 16 (1998-2023)
Best Finish – 2nd in 2000

Mushy is a veteran of the banger scene, and his experience that he has garnered over the years still shows out on track. It has not been one of the most memorable campaigns of his career, but a great meeting at Taunton in August where he took second place behind Rickie Beasley and ultimately the wildcard spot that was up for grabs has seen Mushy book his spot in the main race for the seventeenth time. Mushy has had a second and third and will be hoping he can clinch the gold to add to a long list of titles on his racing CV before he hangs his helmet up, although we hope that doesn’t come any time soon!

360 Jack Reynolds (Spedeworth – BWS Entertainers)
Previous World Finals – 5 (2019-2023)
Best Finish – 2nd in 2019

‘Jackstar’ is another driver that fits the criteria of top entertainer all year round, but when it comes down to the serious side of racing, can turn it on to put in a top drive when required as was shown at the 2019 World Final. Jack showed more of that when he was out in the Rob Speak Saloon Stock Car at Skegness in August where he had a heat win and third in the Final – it’s hard to work out what mindset Jack will be in, but whichever way he opts to go, he’ll be one to keep an eye on.

388 Stevo McGrath (DMC Race Promotions)
Previous World Finals – 7 (2011-2023)
Best Finish – 1st in 2022

Stevo lost the gold roof last year after doing nearly 30,000 kilometres displaying the roof across the UK and Europe. He’s retained the silver roof once again; securing the DMC Points for a third successive year showcasing his ability to be at the top of the scene consistently. Stevo will be keen to reclaim the gold, and definitely has the capability to do so.

414 Jimmy Craig (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Jimmy has really impressed in his first full season in the Unlimited Bangers and makes his way on to the grid. He has experienced the big grid feel before through the 1600 Bangers where he finished among the results previously and always gave a strong account of himself. Jimmy will be happy to be on the grid and you can expect him to feature among the positions.

(4)40 Macauley Mills (Mendips)
Previous World Finals – 7 (2016-2023) 2 DNS
Best Finish – N/A

Mac doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to the World Final – luck has often been against him, but he’ll be hoping to shake that off this year and have a pop at being among the front-runners. Mac has had a taste of gold previously being an ex-PRI World Champion and so knows what it takes to win these big races.

456 Nathan Roberts (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 8 (2012-2023)
Best Finish – N/A

Nathan will be hoping his luck changes this year as he makes his ninth appearance on the grid. Nathan has no top 10 finishes to his name, and he’ll be determined to shake that stat off of him, especially after last year’s heartbreak where he was cruising out front until mechanical gremlins saw him start to fade down the order before eventually being dumped out of the order. You can never rule Nathan out through, a seriously fast driver and the experience to secure the gold.

459 Blake Platts (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2022-2023)
Best Finish – 7th in 2023

Blake has been at the top of the scene for a couple of seasons now and you’d think that he has plenty of years’ experience on track, but the Silver Boys driver has only been out of Junior Bangers for four years now. He won the World Championship in the Junior Bangers and is knocking on the door of a major title win and it’s definitely not far off. Blake raced to third place in the World of Shale at Kings Lynn in September and received high praise off his fellow placemen; Blake will be high on many’s list to take the gold.

506 Danny Mitchell (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 3 (2020-2023)
Best Finish – N/A

Danny is a main stay of the Spedeworth Unlimited scene; another driver that consistently picks up points and has proved his capability to win races as was shown when he took the National Championship at Hednesford last year. Danny’s first taste of the World Final grid came after winning a last chance heat in 2020, which showcases how far he has come in a little amount of time and will be confident of being within the places.

526 Jak Denikiewicz (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

The dedication shown by Jak and his team to commit to the Spedeworth world qualifying campaign from his Manchester base has been impeccable, and he has been rewarded for his efforts with a spot on the grid. Jak is a strong contender for this year’s most improved driver and proved he can mix it on both surfaces with heat wins at both the Northampton and Eastbourne BWS rounds; Jack will be hopeful to record a result here.

548 Alex Utting (Skegness)
Previous World Finals – 4 (2020-2023) 1 DNS
Best Finish – N/A

Alex makes his fifth consecutive World Final appearance representing Skegness, once again alongside Damage Inc teammate 247 Lee ‘Bro’ Clarke. He has had a great season at the East Coast venue winning the Chris Murfin Memorial and the final of the John Golden Testimonial; the latter meeting seeing him take a hat-trick on the day, although team tactics majorly influenced that in the final. Big Al and Bro may potentially have their work cut out for them with their adversaries out on track, but Al has the ability to be among the placemen should all work in his favour.

555 Harry Gelsthorp (Spedeworth – BWS Wildcard)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

‘Dirty Harry’ has had a standout year, one that has really seen him step up a level and be frequently competitive. He kept his foot in the door at Eastbourne in a race where bravery was key. He pushed his way through the carnage whilst others cut across the infield to receive black crosses, and that was rewarded with Harry taking the win and claiming his spot on the World Final grid for the first time and he won’t look out of place being there.

570 Jordan Cumming (Mildenhall)
Previous World Finals – 9 (2014-2022)
Best Finish – 3rd in 2021

Jordan is one of the most versatile drivers on the grid and breaks into the double figures as he takes his spot for the 10th time in his career. ‘Dino Jnr’ is an ex 2L Shale World Champion and 2L ORC World Champion and will be keen to add the Unlimited World Championship to his collection also.

577 Alfie Lee (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 4 (2016-2023)
Best Finish – 10th in 2023

Alfie became the latest member of his family to claim a major title as he raced to the 2L Shale World Championship at Kings Lynn back in July. Alfie recorded his first top 10 finish in the main race last year and will be hopeful of building on that this time around.

617 Jack Overy (Spedeworth – Cash or Card)
Previous World Finals – 18
Best Finish – 1st in 2015

The 2015 World Champion remains one of the biggest names in racing, and his legacy and imprint on the racing scene will be evident for many years to come. We don’t see as much of Jack as we would like to these days, but he’s provided a tremendous service to the banger community and it’s great to see him take his place among the field once again.

623 Ricky Hutton (Mildenhall)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2020-2023)
Best Finish – N/A

‘Tricky’ often dons the TMT name out on his own and keeps the colours alive. We’ve seen Tricky enjoy a mixture of racing and crashing over the year, and that’s likely the theme of this race once again for Tricky – if the opportunity arises to have a play, he’ll take it!

625 Josh Gooch (Spedeworth – Cash or Card)
Previous World Finals – 3 (2020-2022)
Best Finish – 4th in 2021

‘Gucci’ secured his spot on the World Final grid at last year’s event so has enjoyed the luxury of being able to relax a little this year and his racing has definitely shown that as he has combined some top crashing performances with racing alongside.

639 Tye Williams (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 3 (2021-2023)
Best Finish – 6th in 2022

Tye heads into this brimming with confidence off the back of his Unlimited World of Shale win at Kings Lynn just a month ago and has been well among the results wherever he has raced throughout the year and has proved that he can win on both surfaces. Could Tye become the first driver to win the World of Shale and the World Championship in the same year?

670 Max Eaton (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 1
Best Finish – N/A

Max has had a superb season which has since him win the Spedeworth WQ Points in only his second full season of racing since stepping up from the Junior Bangers. Max came within a slither of winning the 1600 World Final back in 2022, and easily has what it takes to be on the top step here tonight. The future of racing is bright with young drivers like Max coming through the ranks.

673 Darren Fendley (Mildenhall – BWS Wildcard)
Previous World Finals – 4
Best Finish – 2nd in 2018

Darren is one of the quickest drivers on the shale, which he showcased once again taking the first Mildenhall wildcard. Darren isn’t just a specialist on the lose stuff however, and has been high in the positions here at Ipswich on several occasions – 2018 being a particularly fruitful year when he took the Wildcard win before following up with a second in the World Final and there’s not been many big races that he has qualified for over recent years that he hasn’t had a foot in at some point.

701 Riley Marsh (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

Riley is another top young driver to emerge from the Junior Banger ranks in recent alongside the likes of 62 Webb and 670 Eaton and displays a lot of talent and composure for a driver fresh to the grid. He’ll enjoy the fact that running mate 570 Dino Jnr will be sharing the grid with him, and will be keen to secure a strong finish on his debut.

717 Jack Tuffen (Spedeworth – Defending Champion)
Previous World Finals – 11 (2013-2023)
Best Finish – 1st in 2023

Jack had been grafting his way in the scene and had certainly cemented his name among some of the sport’s leading names a fair time prior to his World Final win. Jack drove a superb race from 15th on the grid with a timely last bend attack on 887 Rob Browning to take the win in spectacular fashion. Jack had the tough task of following on from 388 Stevo McGrath who put a great effort in representing the gold roof, and Jack has certainly worn it with pride also, taking some race wins throughout the year. Jack could certainly be another driver to do the magic two years on the bounce.

739 Jason Moore (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 4 (2014-2023)
Best Finish – 10th in 2015

It’s been a solid season for the R&J Vehicles group, with 67 Rickie, 77 Patxi and 739 Jason all making the grid. ‘Meerkat’ is another driver that delivers consistently strong results and certainly has the pace to bet a threat at the front of the grid. 10th is his best recorded finish in the event, and he’ll be looking to change that stat this evening.

777 Arian Vorkink (Spedeworth – BWS Entertainers)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2009-2012)
Best Finish – N/A

It’s been a long time since we have seen Arian on the grid, and like Dennis, will just be happy to share that memory alongside his brother. Arie probably lacks the pace to be a threat to the title contenders but will be hoping to get some laps in and then have a crash if the opportunity arises. It’s been another unreal effort from the brothers and it’s great to see their dedication rewarded with them both being on the grid. Bonös brothers on tour; completed it mate!

817 Kurt Jacobs (Mildenhall)
Previous World Finals – 5 (2019-2023)
Best Finish – N/A

Kurt makes his sixth appearance back-to-back in the World Final representing Mildenhall once again. Stig has had a relatively quiet year by his standards and the lack of consistent seat time may hinder his chances. He is yet to record a top 10 finish in the main race but certainly has the ability to do so and knows what these races consist of so will be hopeful to change that this evening.

838 Jamie Peters (Spedeworth – BWS Entertainers)
Previous World Finals – 2 (2017-2021)
Best Finish – N/A

Peters has been one of (if not) the most entertaining drivers of the year with some superb displays. He’s been hard hitting at every World Series round, but something about being on his home track of Taunton for the finale really brought out the best of him with a superb display of front bumper usage. He is yet to record a finish in the main race, but should he choose to keep his head down, is more than capable of getting a top 10 finish.

887 Rob Browning (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 11 (2013-2023)
Best Finish – 2nd in 2023

Last year’s nearly man – Rob did everything right all race up until the last bend in that spectacular finish with Jack Tuffen. This marks Rob’s twelth consecutive appearance in the main race, and he can certainly deliver on going one better this year – a driver that is always at the top of the Unlimited scene with consistent results. Could this be Rob’s year?

920 Terry Church (Spedeworth – WQ Points)
Previous World Finals – 1 (2016)
Best Finish – N/A

Swindon Vigilantes’ ‘Churchy’ has grinded away all season and was rewarded for his efforts with a spot on the main grid. He doesn’t have the biggest budget, so to be in the World certainly meant a lot to him and he’ll be gunning for a finish here.

935 David Gurney (DMC Race Promotions)
Previous World Finals – 0
Best Finish – N/A

David pushed Stevo all the way in the DMC Points, and although he missed out on the top spot, managed to make his way on to the World Final grid. His consistency over the season is no mean feat given the quality of drivers the DMC roster boasts. David made a good account of himself at the World of Shale and will be hopeful of a strong display once again.
