The Halloween Carnival Night is one of the most exciting fixtures of the years. The response for this year’s meeting from drivers has been that great that the 25 & Under Championship of GB has had to be moved from the meeting to the December Unlimited fixture. The King of the Fens and the Supernatural Championship will be among the highlights of what is anticipated to be a top night of racing – the latter title seeing 23 Limo & Hearses set to compete with some serious material expected.
791 Nicky ‘Spud’ Young has become a specialist of the annual all hearse and limo race, having won it 3 times in the last 5 years. He is set to defend the title in his 6-wheeled Jaguar Camper. Can he make it three years on the bounce? Last year’s race went down to only 2 cars running with 585 Luke Holdsworth the other finisher. Luke is set to feature again with a Mercedes Hearse. 1 Maarten Steenbekkers is set to feature in a car of the year contender – a huge Checker Aerobus Cab Limo which is surely going to cause carnage! There are another 16 limos expected to feature including several yank variants. 267 Martin French certainly knows how to get a limo around the Norfolk shaleway. The White trio of 336 Nigel and sons 335 Lee and 343 Lewis are also limo powered, whilst 246 Aston Burt, 707 Alfie Nottingham and 776 Ady Groome will all be ones to watch.
The weather conditions were awful for the King of the Fens at last year’s event. 222 Matty High wasn’t put off by it however, guiding his Jaguar X300 Limo to the King of the Fens title. He’s back to try and retain the honour with a host of top names looking to take it off of him. 209 Tom Waller’s Unlimited form here at the Adrian Flux Arena over the past couple of years has been hard to beat. He’s secured the East Anglian Championship the past two years and has been a podium finisher in the King of the Fens title also. 459 Blake Platts is knocking on the door of a title win – podium finishes in the World of Shale, East Anglian, King of the Fens and 25 & Under GB Champ – it can’t be long before he sees the chequered flag. 673 Darren Fendley will look to put the gremlins of World Final behind him and put a strong showing here. 570 Jordan Cumming had a top night at the World Final securing the win in the Cash or Card race and will be looking to continue that form. 56 Ricky Clarke and 123 Kieran Gray also had good fortunes that night with an Alcomers win and Last Chance win. The battle for the Trackstar Points Championship sees 69 Brad Bartram with a 61 point advantage after a successful meeting a fortnight ago which saw him secure the 1600 Caged! Open title. He’ll be looking for a good set of results to extend that lead whilst 337 Ashley Garrod is yet to book in. Stark brothers 88 Lyndon and 888 Lloyd are not seen enough here at Kings Lynn these days but are always welcomed additions and know their way around. 85 James Ellis, 188 John Reeves, 271 Ashlun Woods and 400 Lee Kingsnorth will be among other contenders for the title whilst a heap of entertainers will be looking to cause an upset.
51 James Licquorice is romping away at the head of the Entertainers League. He’s been levels ahead and will look to continue that streak. 199 Shaydy Gough took the entertainer of the meeting award for the 2 Litre Bangers at the Caged! Open and will be looking to have a night of the same. A large fleet of Bears are expected, as well as members from Blue & Black, Aftermath, Predators, Levellers and Gladiators. Continental visitors 105 Harm Ludolphie, 106 Nick Ruiters and 380 Colin Jogsma are welcome returnees and should look to mix it up with the local contingent. Throw in the likes of 162 Brent Shaw, 171 Andy Frost, 288 Carl Sowter, 420 Matthew Jode and 920 Kaelan Blakeman and it should be a corker. The awesome 1959 Cadillac of 32 Matthew Walker that did the rounds on social media is expected to be in action and he can do some serious damage at the hands of the Cadillac.
Add in the Reliant Robins and the 1300 Stock Cars World of Shale, as well as the Halloween festivities and it will be a night of unmissable action.
