The season opener at Yarmouth raised a mega 42 cars on Easter Sunday 1st April including many new faces.
Heat 1 saw no real notable action, although there was a few spins throughout. 546 Tony Leonard took the win.
Heat 2 commenced with 21 cars. 499 Emms attacked 409 Taylor. 547 Rhyno spun 754.
409 Taylor spun 499 Emms fencewards. 439 Sutty spun 754 Medler. 176 Ralph turned 776 left. 409 Taylor spun 800 Weavers. 509 Dicky turned 800 Weavers fencewards. 509 Dicky and 777 Middleton tangled towards the end. 6 Nathan Ling took the win this time around.
Heat 3 was the first all in heat and raised 39 cars. 111 Green got put in under the starters rostrum. 333 Cuddles caught the marker tyres and went up on to two wheels. 14 Bazza spun 141 Snakey into 212 Barty’s prone car. 548 Big Al set about 755 Medler who snaked into 212 Barty’s door. 777 Middleton backed across the track; 595 Sal-mon obliged to drive through him. 715 Evans delivered a head on to 777 Middleton. 548 Big Al span 316 Dace. 367 Beevor started spinning 621 Gruff and ran head on into 316 Dace. 447 Nail span 548 Big Al. 39 Pusher Paul attacked 548 Big Al and spun him aside. 176 Ralph put away 755 Medler. 741 Luke Parfitt the third different winner of the night.
The Final saw 25 cars hit the track. 385 Thurlow bump started 499 Emms. 995 Emmerson spun 379 Iggle. 409 Taylor spun 379 Iggle, who backed across the track holding up 548 Big Al. 379 Iggle spat 499 Emms left, and proceeded to put away Heat 2 winner 6 Long. 176 Ralph launched in 28 Green. There was a big battle break out for the third spot; 176 Ralph launched at 447 Nail who caught the fence, also taking out 995 Emmerson too which allowed 141 Snakey to break free. 19 Titch turned 547 Rhyno fencewards. 548 Big Al nudged brother 547 Rhyno this get him going again. 308 Martin spun aside 639 Green. 547 Rhyno and 409 Taylor tangled towards the end. 445 Andy Leonard took the win ahead of 19 Titch and 176 Ralph.
An impressive 21 cars made it out for the DD. 755 Medler ran 800 Weavers into 367 Beevor.754 Medler went head on into 367 Beevor. 336 Fathead (in 111 Green’s car) ran 14 Bazza into 595 Sal-mon. 447 Nail caged 333 Cuddles. 336 Fathead jacked 175 Emmo, as 547 Rhyno done him head on. 316 Dace tboned 175 Emmo. 439 Sutty and 176 Ralph shared a head on. 547 Rhyno tboned 176 Ralph. 379 Iggle jacked 316 Dace. 316 Dace administered a reverse attack on 379 Iggle.379 Iggle dished a head on to 548 Big Al. 439 Sutty ran 316 Dace into 379 Iggle. 499 Emms piled into 439 Sutty. 316 Dace dished a shot on 379 Iggle. 379 Iggle attacked 316 Dace. 379 Iggle followed in 499 Emms to win the DD and celebrated by driving through 548 Big Al.
Overall, a very enjoyable season opener and if the action continues like that, the Back To Basics season at Yarmouth should be an enjoyable one.
