Trackstar cap off another fantastic season, which saw them take the Caged! Promoter of the Year title for the third year running. The final meeting sees the annual Micro Bangers Teams of 3, where 19 teams are currently set for contention.
It was Dover Boys ‘B’ that were victorious 12 months ago, and the Dover Boys faction are back once again albeit down to one team. The trio of 51 James Licquorice, 188 John Reeves and 337 Ashley Garrod certainly know what it takes to win a team meeting and will all be itching to get a strong result today. TFB were runners up last year and collectively they have had another strong year in the Micro Bangers. They will certainly be looking to secure the top spot this year with two strong looking teams. The A team boasts 621 Ryan Hawes and 624 Cameron Hubbard who have been race winners here this year, whilst the B team features Stock Car ace 129 Will Morphey, and another race winner in the form of 510 Dan Newman. Team Mates are also a strong faction, fronted by Trackstar Points Champion 830 Lee White. The Predators are only currently booked in as a duo, but 178 ‘Slim’ Kieran Bowman and 87 Damien Matthews certainly boast the quality to mount a challenge. The likes of Twisted Metal, Team Havoc and Team Bash shouldn’t be overlooked – Team Bash particularly given the form that 673 Darren Fendley is in at the moment. Darren lifted the Unlimited Nutcracker title here earlier in the month to mark his seventh race win of the season at Kings Lynn this year; the most of any driver, and he’ll be looking to secure third place in the Trackstar Points too.
Expect the likes of LT Autos, Sharpe Boyz & Ben, The Smashers, Team Bilge and Aftermath to get stuck in. Micro Bangers have a nature to become fairly lively and there is definitely enough characters to make that happen. As the meeting goes on, expect team tactics begin to form as drivers start taking teams around them in points out to ensure the fortune is in their favour.
The Junior Bangers conclude a fantastic season also, with a shootout for the points title going down to the wire, as 291 Liam Waterfall, 609 Levi Murkin and 10 Harry Andrews are all in with a shout. Waterfall starts the day with the advantage; with a 15 point gap and the most victories here this year. The talent of the youngsters has been fully apparent all year, with 24 different race winners across the season. There’s also a fierce battle in the White & Yellow Points, where only 30 points separate the top 10. 8 Perry Williamson and 85 Jade Ellis have only one point between them, so they’ll be looking to put a good display to be victorious at the end of the day.
